St. Francis Xavier has many resources to better serve the students’ academic and learning needs outside the classroom.
Technology Instruction
Use of technology in daily instruction is encouraged and supported at our school. Aside from the use of classroom computer(s) and a projector, there are 4 fully stocked Chromebook carts that are available for use in classrooms. Through our upgrade of the Wi-fi throughout the entire school building through e-Rate, Chromebooks can be utilized in any classroom to assist teachers in utilizing blended learning techniques as a part of breakout groups. Teachers will reinforce student learning and technology skills in all academic areas.
All teachers at St. Francis Xavier School utilize the G Suite for Education (formerly Google Apps for Education) as is age appropriate, as a part of technology integration within various subject areas. This Suite of tools has given schools the ability to have a secured account with unlimited storage that allows students and faculty to interact seamlessly and securely across devices at school and home. Google also allows the school to control all the settings.
STEM Learning Lab
Our students have directly benefited from our computer lab transformation into a STEM Learning Lab. It is through the generosity of our 2017 Call of the Heart Donors that a new floor, all new furniture, Chromebooks and a Sharp Aquos Board 70″ Monitor were successfully installed. We are very proud to offer a space that has been designed to provide students with a dynamic environment to collaborate, experiment and investigate concepts in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering and Math with their teachers.
